ShoutOut

This is my shout out to all of you who are looking for any, and I really mean ANY kinds of eye shadows. I personally love bright neons, colors that are really bold, I hadn't been able to find any colors that I just loved until I went to

beautyfromtheearth.com

This place has everything!! From bold neon green to a translucent silvery white with a blue undertone, I absolutely love it. Later this week I'm going to show you guys some color swatches and show you just how vibrant and alive the colors are. They really light up your face. I love putting on my makeup in the morning because I know I look fabulous. If you haven't ever looked at Beauty From the Earth, I would go give it a look. It is 10% off for new customers, I would really suggest you spend a few minutes and look at the colors. It may look expensive but it is a great investment and the colors last for years.

The link at the bottom is one of my absolute favorite looks, it uses green apple, blueberry, and grape. This is just one example of the incredible colors this place has to offer. Go and check it out! I promise it will be worth your time.

Hi everybody! I've taken up poetry, this is one of my few attempts at poetry. . . Ummm, I don't really know what else to say. . . . Please comment! Give advice, suggestions, ideas, anything! BTW, my feelings don't get bruised easily. Also, this was NOT written about anybody in particular it's just been kind of my experience watching others deal with this kind of pain. Hope you enjoy it!

Walking down the hall
Marble tears pool into her blue-gray eyes
Rolling softly down her cheeks
For she will never be his
His laugh, his smile
For her making nothing worthwhile
The other girls, they have so much

And now she constantly trying to have the right touch
Their beauty, their wit, their constant charm
For which she would gladly give a leg or an arm
And now here comes the last day for which she lives
For there is no alternative
So here lies the close of her sad tale

And she will never that love letter mail
Death and pain are her only escape
Her spirit there for eternity, without her love . . .
Forever on a jagged landscape

Like I said, please please comment! Thanks a ton!

Harry Potter

Ok, I just finished Harry Potter!!!! Hooray! I loved it! It was so much fun to read! I loved all of the books except for #2, I can't tell you why I don't like that one because I have no idea. . . My favorites were first #4, then #5, then #3, then 6&7, and then 1, 2 being my least favorite. I'm so excited to see the movie with my friends! Although, I'm not sure I quite believe that HP6 could possibly be PG, it doesn't seem possible. . . Oh well! Ok, well, just thought I'd make that announcement. Love you guys!

Why Disney Princesses Need Some Help (Continued)

For today's review I watched The Little Mermaid, this is one of my favorite Disney movies. It is so cute and I love it, it still holds some magic even though I'm an adolescent. I did have quite a few issues with the characters of this show though, they had some problems that I wanted to address.

The Little Mermaid:
-Her father is VERY temperamental, he didn't even give Ariel the chance to explain when he called upon her to inquire about her lateness.
-Flounder has no personality at all, he's just the helpless little yellow fish with an annoying habit of following Ariel everywhere.
-Sebastian has no sense of patience, I do not have this quality myself but I find it pertinent to point out. He acts as if Ariel is two and can't take care of herself.
-Ariel doesn't do anything when her father finds her treasures, all she does is cry "No, daddy!" and doesn't even try to protect her beloved statue from her dad.
-Ariel has a petty crush and acts as if the world revolves around Eric. She has only seen him and heard him talking to the sailors and Grim. When she runs away to Ursula she has no idea if Eric is going to accept her.
-Ursula has to be my favorite character in this movie. She is malicious, evil and persuasive. She does have a prominent fault, however, she fails to keep the seashell that contains Ariel's voice in a safe place. Why would she keep it around her neck? The movie fails to describe any reason why she must place it there and if she doesn't need it there couldn't she have kept it in her room where it would be safe from potential damage?
-Eric should have kissed Ariel when they returned to the surface after the eels pushed over their boat, it would have been the perfect time. This would have ended the movie and their would have been very little drama but it still would have been the sensible thing to do.
-Eric has so little personality, all we know of him is that he's the Prince and he needs to get married soon. We sort of know that he's strong and brave from when he saved his dog from the fire but these are the only characteristics of the esteemed Prince Eric.

A little note I must add here is the obvious romantic relationship between the cook and maid, this was so cute and I love the flirting they do through out the movie.
I have had a few requests for other movies to review, these are Aladdin and Sleeping Beauty. These are the only others I am going to do unless you have any other requests. Thanks for suffering through my ramblings and just to let you know, I have enjoyed doing this! I might have other mini series in the future so be sure to keep coming for more little tidbits of joy.

Cutest Couple Ever!

This is the cutest couple I have seen in a long time, I hope you enjoy them and smile as I did with the joy they are spreading around.

Why Disney Princess Need Some Help (Continued)

In order to portray Snow White accurately and show others her faults I chose to watch the film before I made this post. To put it simply enough, it was painful to watch. I don't know what appeal it held as a child, I was to the point of suicide before it was over. Well here you go!

Snow White:
-Can her voice be any more annoying? Is she singing through her nose? And how come her echo from the wishing well doesn't sound nearly as bad as her own voice?
-How on Earth does she know who she loves when she hasn't been outside the castle walls? And how does the prince know that he loves her when he's only heard her sing, personally I think he's crazy for liking her when all he's heard is her crazy voice.
-Is Snow White really a princess? The Huntsman said she was, but she surely doesn't act like it.
-Who did her hair? Where does she get it cut? And why can't she do it without it being clear up to her ears?
-Wasn't it day time when she ran into the woods? The sun must have set in about ten seconds because when she went into the forest it was all of the sudden dark. And then it gets light again! Again in about ten seconds!
-Is she still touching all those animals? Hasn't she ever heard of rabies? And how does she understand what those animals are saying? I mean, she hasn't ever gone to school, how does she even know how to walk and talk, let alone comprehend all the things the crazy birds are chirping. And then the fact that all of the birds and animals understand what she is saying is miraculous. :\
-Personally, I would not eat off of a plate that was cleaned by a deers tongue and then washed with a squirrels tail! Yuck!
-Do the dwarfs own the mine? Because if they don't, technically they are stealing. The whole time when Snow White was cleaning she didn't see any deed to that mine.
-Has anyone besides me noticed that they don't have an outhouse? How and where are they supposed to use the bathroom to do their necessities?
-How come Doc is the leader when he can't even speak correctly? Does he crack under pressured, and if so, isn't he just in front of his own brothers?
-Why is Dopey the guinea pig? I mean, he's the dopiest of all and obviously won't be able to do the job correctly.
-If Doc hadn't ever washed himself, how did he know how? He was teaching all the other dwarfs how to wash even though he didn't know how.
-Where did the light in the cabin come from at night when they were doing the music? And couldn't Snow White have done the whole light thing when she was cleaning their house?
-When Snow White was telling the story to the dwarfs she described the Prince as handsome and romantic but when she actually saw him, she ran away into the house!
-When you're alone you don't tell a strange old lady that comes to your house that you're alone! And hasn't anyone told her to not accept food from strangers?
-Snow White is so naive, honestly, even though it's a fairy tale, who believes in Wishing Apples?
-Why doesn't Dopey have any hair? They don't have buzzers to cut it off and scissors wouldn't be able to cut the hair that cleanly!
-When the Prince kisses her it's like one second! Usually when you love someone it's a little longer than a second. Oh well. The best part of the movie ruined. . . :)
-She just trusts that the Prince is going to take care of her! Has she spoken to him even once?

And here lies the end of our second review of the poor characters these princesses turn out to be. I hope it didn't end up being too boring. Alice in Wonderland, I believe will be the next review. Let's see how this one turns out. Love you!

Why Disney Princesses Need to Have Some Help

Those of you who enjoy the disney movies, I have no problem with this. I enjoy them too, they are great little stories. Here are just a few things I noticed that spoiled some of the glory and magic these movies possessed ever since I was little. I'm going to start with Cinderella and then I will do reviews, or criticisms of other lovely princesses.

Cinderella: Where to begin, where to begin!
-Why doesn't Cinderella run away? How hard would this be? It couldn't be harder than the rotten life she leads with that evil stepfamily!
-Why does she take that crap from her step mom? Seriously, it couldn't be very hard to at least tell her "No!"
-When you sing a song, it generally has more than six words in it, "Sing sweet nightingale, high above me" These are the only words to that silly song!
-When little girls watch this movie, they see that when Cinderella has something go wrong her magical Fairy God Mother steps out and makes everything PERFECT, perfect I tell you! What are we teaching the future of America?
-When you meet Prince Charming, you generally learn their name before, "So this is love!" Did they speak once to each other while they were dancing?

Thanks for listening! Next victim, Snow White from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

My Adorable Kitten

You can't get much cuter than this!

So sleepy!

Can you tell I love my cat? Or do I need to put some more pictures? He's adorable!

He's wild! Get away!

"Don't poke fun! I like sitting like this. . ."

"What are you doing? Get away!"

Picture perfect, always.

"Hey, you don't bother Santa when he's sleeping!"

"What are you talking about? This is my pillow!"

"Can you tell I like boxes?"

"Pink is my favorite color, oh so soft!"

Once on this Island

This past week has been really hectic. I am in the cast for our school's musical Once on this Island. It is the Caribbean retelling of the nonDisney Little Mermaid. So, yes, she dies in the end. I sing and dance in four numbers that are really fun. The only thing is, I will have the seen the stupid thing about six times as of tonight! How crazy is that? It is also very irritating to me that my teacher Mr. White chose a guy who can not sing at all, for one of the main parts! The character's name is Papa Ge and he is basically the devil. The guy who plays him is an incredible actor, but since it's a musical it makes me want to scream and kill him every time he goes on the stage! Well that's about all for now, see you later!

My Favorite Quote

""One of the secrets of life is to find joy in the journey."
"But Grandma, you weren't on *this* journey. It was just crazy--"
Grandma held up her hand. "You have six brothers. You got to spend a whole day in the car with them. You're all healthy, well fed, happy... Someday, when you're a little older, I'll bet you'd give anything to be back in that van of yours with all of your brothers, smelly diapers and all."
I mulled that over.
"Well what about Dad?" I pointed out. "He didn't find any joy in the journey. He was yelling at trees."
Grandma sat back, "Your father and mother are masters at finding joy in the journey."
I didn't understand.
Grandma continued, "Do you really think your parents would have had seven kids if they couldn't find joy in the journey?... I would be willing to wager that he'll be laughing about this trip on Monday morning with his friends at work."
Grandma took my hands into hers. "There are a lot of people in this life that will try to convince you that they're selling something that will bring you joy. The simple fact of the matter is that *things* don't bring you joy. You have to find joy in life experience. And if you take along somebody you love, then that journey is going to be all the more enjoyable.
"I can promise you right now that both good and bad things are going to happen to you in your life. Good and bad things happen to everybody. Some people are good at finding the miserable things in life, and some are good at finding the joy. No matter what happens to you, what you remember is up to you."" -Matthew Buckley

This is one of my favorite quotes from the book, Bullies in the Headlights, I strongly recommend it if you want a good laugh. Hope you are having as marvelous of a day as me!

Lime Green Shoes

Does the title say it all or what? So today I walked into Walmart following my mom, bored out of my mind, when she suggests we go to the shoe aisle, at this I grew excited and followed her, expectantly, forward. I grabbed at a pair of blue plaid shoes and said, 'Oh can we get these, please?' but my mom said, shaking her head, 'I don't really like those,' But guess what! We looked a little to the left and low and behold there were the most amazing, lime green with polka dots, shoes! They are so stinking amazing! I'm wearing them to school tomorrow!
